April Nature Journal Entry

Focus Point:  You will work in pairs and each take turns being a camera or a photographer. When you're the camera, sketch what you are "focused" on.

Repeat this process twice. Details in your sketch and written description of each of the two "beings" should indicate: color, size, texture,  specific location and diversity (common or uncommon).

Reflection

Thoreau went to the woods by Walden Pond to learn about nature and himself. He observed nature and reflected on what it had to teach him about life and his place in the universe.

Read the following passage from Walden,  Thoreau's account of his two years in the woods, and reflect upon Thoreau's experiences as a nature journaler and your own experiences as a nature journaler.

"I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life…to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it …" (Thoreau).
