CP English - 10 Semester Portfolio Project

The purpose of this project is to provide you with an organized method for reviewing the major literary works we encountered this past semester.

Your three-ring binder/portfolio should include every piece of work from this semester that you can find. Don't forget that you have original and scored papers in your digital portfolio at www.turnitin.com . Print-up hard copies of these documents so you can include them in your portfolio.

Step 1 - ORGANIZE the Binder

Your binder will be divided into five sections - one for each unit we have completed together.

  • The Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare
    • All Drama Reader's Responses (organized by entry #)
    • Character Cards
    • Completed and Scored Essay Test Response

  •  Night by Elie Wiesel
    • All Reader's Responses  (organized by entry #)
    • Completed and Scored Essay Test Response

  • House on Mango Street
    • All Reader's Responses (organized by entry #)

  • Multi-Genre Research Paper
    •  All rough drafts (including dear reader & bibliography)
    • Completed final draft

  • Five Paragraph Argument Review
    •  All handouts/sample five paragraph essays

Step 2 - REFLECT on the Semester & Complete Section Intro. Sheets

First, reflect on the significant characters and themes explored in each unit. Then select three passages from the literary work that reflect the essence of a central character or theme. Choose an image/graphic to pair with each passage.

What does a completed section intro. sheet look like? See this example for Moby Dick.

NOTE: Each passage should be placed in quotes and be followed by the author's name.  Indicate the source images/graphics outside of clipart.

Step 3 - Other Cover Sheets

Download each of the following cover sheets ( and add your name where indicated) for inclusion in your portfolio.
