How to: Vocabulary Builder

From time to time, you will be engaged in a variety of vocabulary building activities. Some of these activities will become a part of your vocabulary log. Your log will be a record of the words you have endeavored to add to your working academic vocabulary.

So, how will we do this? Research tells us that vocabulary is best learned in a variety of ways; therefore, we will expand our vocabulary by:

  • interacting with lists and online quizzes to build an understanding of common SAT words and roots/derivatives
  • exploring literary terms which are specific to English course work
  • looking for words in the context of reading we are doing for class

To get started, upload this log to your Google Apps account. (Be sure to "share" your log with Mrs. Juster via Google Apps.)

Then, as you read a literary work or explore common SAT words or literary terms, you'll upload a new page to add to this log.
